From the author of the New York Times bestsellers
How Full Is Your Bucket? (Gallup Press, 2004, Strengths Based Leadership (Gallup Press, 2009), and Wellbeing (Gallup Press, 2010) a book that features the new Wellbeing Finder assessment. STRENGTHSFINDER 2.0
Do you have the opportunity to do what you do best every day? Chances are, you don't. All too often, our natural talents go untapped. From the cradle to the cubicle, we devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than to developing our strengths. To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, StrengthsFinder, in 2001 which ignited a global conversation and helped millions to discover their top five talents. In its latest national bestseller, StrengthsFinder 2.0, Gallup unveils the new and improved version of its popular assessment, language of 34 themes, and much more (see below for details). While you can read this book in one sitting, you'll use it as a reference for decades. Loaded with hundreds of strategies for applying your strengths, this new book and accompanying website will change the way you look at yourself -- and the world around you -- forever. AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY IN STRENGTHSFINDER 2.0 (using the unique access code included with each book) * A new and upgraded edition of the StrengthsFinder assessment * A personalized Strengths Discovery and Action-Planning Guide for applying your strengths in the next week, month, and year * A more customized version of your top five theme report * 50 Ideas for Action (10 strategies for building on each of your top five themes)
Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Buy NEW!Comment: I really wish I had read the reviews before buying this book. As others have noted, in order to take the assessment online, you need a unique access code that each book is supplied with. Even though my used copy came with this access code, it can only be used once. Grrrr... I'm sure this is a great assessment and book, but it's completely useless if you can't access it.Customer Rating: Summary: Buy New if You BuyComment: I didn't make it through the whole book because about 25 pages in I discovered you need the "code" in the back of the book to take the "Strengths Test" online. This code is only good for one user, and is revealed by scratch off. Since I bought the book used, someone had already used the code. I felt I would not get the whole experience from the book, and gave up on it. Sad!Customer Rating: Summary: Informative but not comprehensiveComment: Strengths Finder is particularly helpful for people in transition who need to understand themselves better. It is also helpful for those who are not in the flow of what comes easy to them. As thinking is a core performance indicator, I recommend this program in conjunction with the Optimal Thinking Online Assessment and the Optimal Thinking: How to Be Your Best Self book.Customer Rating: Summary: Don't buy "used" even the condition is "like New"Comment: You will need access code to access StrenghtsFinder 2.0 test, which comes with book and must be used exclusively by one person.
If you buy a real new book, the access code you receive is most likely "INVALID"
Don't waste your time and shipping fee. Just buy a new one.Customer Rating: Summary: Reliability over 4 yearsComment: Firstly I should say I found the results of the test to be reassuring although not surprising (I'm a mature adult). Secondly I like the "focus on the positive" aspect of the book's philosophy - that is: go with the strength, is a much more productive approach in my experience in business.
I took the test from the first edition of the book (Now, Discover your Strengths) four years ago, and just retook it from the more recent version of the book - Strengths Finder 2.0. Results: THREE out of my 5 top strengths were the same. Pretty good reliability it seems.
I recommend this to all who are interested in greater self-knowledge.
