After going through enough questions, you'll find that everything you need to know will be there. While it has a majority of the actual topics on the USMLE step 1, if you used this book open note, you would probably get a 40%. It's good for pharmacology and all right for biochemistry and micro. Other than that you must supplement this book yourself like crazy if you are going to use it. Focus on Goljan more than any other source, he knows what he is talking about 100%. I started to panic a little because I did not make a full pass through this book before the exam, and found out that it did not matter at all. The questions that I ended up not knowing on the exam I checked with First Aid after and they were not even in there. Med students seem to love this book, but I found it to be a HUGE disappointment compared to what I was told about it.Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent bookComment: I have the First Aid 2008, and the 2010 edition has definitely made some improvements! The biochemistry section is much heftier than it was before, and more of the information has been assembled into tables. It's much easier to go through now. Also there are way more pictures than before, which is also helpful.
